Nail art work is an innovative way to color, decorate, enhance, and embellish the fingernails or toenails. It is a kind of artwork that can be done on fingernails and toenails, usually after manicures or pedicures. A manicure and a pedicure are beauty treatments that trim, shape, and polish the nail. Often the cuticles are removed by these procedures and soften the skin around the claws. The exact origins of toe nail treatments is unclear, since it appears to have originated in various parts of the world around the same time. In ancient Egypt, from 5000 B.C. to 3000 B.C., women would dye their fingernails with henna to point sociable position and seductiveness. Women of the lower class wore neutral and pastel shades, as the upper classes wore deep, bright shades. In Babylonia, 3200 B.C., men, not women, coated their claws with green and black color kohl, an ancient aesthetic. To prepare for war, warriors of Babylon put in hours having their fingernails prepared, mane curled and possessed other similar beauty treatments. Just as ancient Egypt, nail color indicated one's status, black for noblemen and green for the common man. Around once, 3000 B.C., the first toe nail polish originated in ancient China. It had been created from beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, veg dyes, and gum arabic. Chinese dipped their toenails in this mix for several hours or kept it to dried. Colors ranged from green to red, with respect to the mixture of the ingredients. During the Zhou Dynasty, 600 B.C., royalty used this simple nail polish with gold and silver dust on their nails showing their social position.
