Nail art work is a creative way to paint, decorate, enhance, and embellish the toenails. It is a kind of artwork that can be done on toenails and fingernails, after manicures or pedicures usually. A manicure and a pedicure are beauty treatments that trim, shape, and polish the nail. In ancient Egypt, from 5000 B.C. to 3000 B.C., women would dye their fingernails with henna to indicate sociable seductiveness and status. Women of the low class wore neutral and pastel shades, while the upper classes deep wore, bright shades. In Babylonia, 3200 B.C., men, not women, painted their nails with green and black kohl, an ancient cosmetic. To prepare for warfare, warriors of Babylon spent hours having their fingernails prepared, wild hair possessed and curled other similar beauty treatments. Such as ancient Egypt, nail color indicated one's status, black for noblemen and green for the normal man. Around the same time, 3000 B.C., the first nail polish started in ancient China. It had been created from beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, veg dyes, and gum arabic. Chinese dipped their nails in this mix for several hours or left it to dried out. Colors ranged from green to red, depending on mixture of the ingredients. During the Zhou Dynasty, 600 B.C., royalty used this simple toenail polish with gold and silver dust on the nails showing their social position.
