It had been made from beeswax, egg whites, gelatin, veg dyes, and gum arabic. Chinese language dipped their toenails in this mix for several hours or left it to dry out. Colors ranged from pink to red, with respect to the combination of the ingredients. During the Zhou Dynasty, 600 B.C., royalty used this simple toe nail polish with gold and silver dust on their nails showing their social status.
