In ancient Egypt, from 5000 B.C. to 3000 B.C., women would dye their toenails with henna to point communal seductiveness and position. Women of the lower class wore neutral and pastel shades, as the upper classes deep wore, bright shades. In Babylonia, 3200 B.C., men, not women, decorated their nails with black and renewable kohl, an ancient beauty.
